“I don’t care how much money you have, free stuff is always a good thing.” Queen Latifa
I am beyond excited to announce this giveaway. I’m even doing this post a day early!! That’s how thrilled I am!!! I have been thinking the last several weeks about taking some of my recipes that have become so popular at our local Farmers Market and turning them into dry mixes. The benefits of this are so exciting! I can move beyond a small audience, once a week, 5 month opportunity to sell my sweets and treats to those craving truly delicious gluten and dairy free foods, to year round, nationwide market! And this stuff is really good! I wish you could see the faces of those that enjoy my treats each week! It is so gratifying to know that I am bringing joy through safe food to so many people. I have done birthday cupcakes, cobblers and several other items that are not on my regular menu because people know they can trust my food to be delicious and safe.
I don’t know if you’ve tried the coffee cake yet (what are you waiting for???), but if you have, you know how amazing the recipe is.My zucchini and banana breads, cookies, and cakes are just as fabulous – moist, full of flavor, with all natural ingredients and so easy to make.
I’ve decided to do some “prototypes” of dry mixes for a few of my recipes: coffee cake (of course!), zucchini bread, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies (the chips are dairy free dark chocolate), and chocolate cake (again, DF). I will include baking instructions, using gluten and dairy free ingredients. If you are not DF, feel free to use your regular ingredients – it won’t change the taste. I plan to bring some of these to the last day of the Huntingburg, IN Farmers Market next Saturday, but I am also going to make them available to others around the country.
CONTEST INFO: Here’s how it will work. In the comments section below, write the name of the mix that you would like to try. Coffee Cake, Zucchini Bread, Banana Bread, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Cake I will choose 5 names from this post and also 5 names from my Facebook page (Good Food Dear Friends) to send out free samples to. I will announce winners next Saturday, the 12th. I’ll probably ask those winners to PM me on Facebook so I can get mailing info, and then I’ll send the mixes out. Easy as pie – well, no pie yet! I’m still working on that!
I only ask that you try the mixes soon and get back to me to let me know how they worked for you. I’d like to begin selling around the holidays, if that’s at all possible. One note – I don’t know that I’ll be able to have food info labels on these prototypes yet. I’m still looking into how to do that. I will have a complete ingredients list as well as contact information for me, but I’m still looking into how to implement the rest of the information, like calories and fat content and such. If you have any specific questions, you can always contact me and ask. I can state without a doubt that I only use certified gluten and dairy free ingredients (as I’ve mentioned before, my flour blend is made of GF oat and sorghum flours) and I am very careful regarding cross contamination. I use a separate, dedicated GFDF kitchen in my house and I don’t allow anyone else to use it.
I hope to hear from you soon! I look forward to having you join me on this next phase of my journey. And better yet, I can not only wish you joy, I can give it to you, for FREE!! If you could, please share this post with others you know. If I get enough of a response, I may increase the number sent out.
When you get your free mix and make it, don’t keep it all to yourself (you will be so tempted!), but share the Good Food with Dear Friends.
